The Proof Process Explained!
At imagestuff.com, we design products to help motivate, recognize, reward and promote excellence. We carry a wide variety of products - most of which can be personalized or customized to meet your specific needs.
You will find that the vast majority of our products fall into one of three categories:
- STOCK products can be ordered exactly as you see them on our web site. Because stock products do not require a proofing process, their order cycle can be completed very quickly.
- PERSONALIZED products give you the ability to add your name or imprint to our design (along with limited ability to change colors or other wording as well).
- CUSTOM products give you complete control over your design. You dream it up, and we make it for you!
Given the level of customization possible on our personalized and custom products, we use the proof process to ensure that we get your product looking exactly the way you want it. Proofs enable you to view a personalized/customized product before you actually place an order. It is important to note that requesting a proof does not mean that you have any obligation to purchase that product.
Simply follow our easy proof process by providing us with your specifications (imprint, background pattern, font choice, logo and any additional design ideas you may have), and our design team will go to work and use that information to design your proof. If you want to send us your own logo or other artwork, you can send it to art@imagestuff.com and we will use your images instead of ours.
Step 1: Select the Product

On the left side of our web site, you will find a convenient menu of our various product types (sample listing shown in Figure 1). If the menu choice has a little plus sign next to it, that means it has additional subcategories of products under it that you can access by clicking it. Select your desired product type. * NOTE: Only personalized and custom products require proofs. |
Step 2: Choose Personalized or Custom
Once you have chosen a specific product type, you will be able to pick from the stock, personalized or custom categories (Figure 2). For this example, we will choose a custom bookmark to illustrate the remainder of the proof process.

* NOTE: Stock items do not require a proof. If you would like to make changes (color, wording, etc.) to a stock item, then you will need to select that same item from the personalized category of that product type.
Step 3: Complete the Form
Each personalized/custom product page will have a form with available options for that specific product (Figure 3). You must complete any required fields before you can submit the proof request.

In this example, we have chosen blue tassels, entered our school's name for the Imprint Text and designated the Imprint Color as blue and silver (Figure 4).

We have also made our selections for Background Choice, Font Choice and Logo Choice (Figure 5). To view the full listing of each option section, click on the link for each applicable section.

If you have your own logo or artwork that you would like us to use, you can upload the file or email it to us by following the links provided (Figure 6).

Step 4: Provide Any Final Comments
Lastly, you can give us additional specific instructions to help us better understand the design you want us to create (Figure 7).

Step 5: Submit Your Proof Request

At this point, you are ready to request your proof. Simply click on the Request Proof button (Figure 8), and your FREE, no-obligation proof request will be sent to us and our designers will go to work!
After submitting your proof request, you will be taken back to your My Account page (Figure 9). You will find that the proof request has been listed under your Current Proofs section at the top of your My Account page.

Step 6: Proceed through the Approval Process
You will receive an email once your proof has been posted and is ready for you to view. The email will provide a link to your My Account page. A sample email is shown below.
Dear Smith Elementary,
We wanted to let you know that we have posted/updated the
following proof:
Product ID: KE68013X9
Product Name: Smith Elementary - Custom Bookmark, No Tardies
You can view your proof and take the next step of approving or
disapproving (and requesting changes) on your My Account page.

If we did design it exactly the way you want it, click on the Approved button (Figure 10). Please remember, that you are only approving the proof-- you are NOT placing an order.

Your item is now ready to be ordered whenever you are ready. Remember: requesting and approving a proof does not mean that you have any obligation to purchase that product.
Step 7: Request Changes if Necessary
If we didn't design it exactly the way you want it, enter your desired changes (be as specific as possible) and then click on the NOT Approved button (refer back to Figure 10 above).
If you choose Not Approved, your My Account page will be updated to show that you have requested changes to your proof (Figure 11).

Once you have submitted your changes, our design team will post an updated proof as soon as possible. You will receive another email when your revised proof has been posted and is ready for you to view. You will notice the status has now changed to "Ready for another review" (Figure 12).

You will follow the same process listed in Steps 6 and 7 to approve or not approve your proof. NOTE: An item cannot be ordered (or even placed in your shopping cart) until the proof process has been completed and the proof has been approved.
Step 8: Place Items in Your Shopping Cart
Once you approve your proof, your My Account page will be updated to include that newly approved item in your My Products section (Figure 13). Note the "Quick Add" shopping cart symbol that appears to the right of each item's thumbnail image. Once you are ready to order this item, just click on the "Quick Add" shopping cart symbol.

When you "Quick Add" an item to your Shopping Cart, you will receive an alert window (Figure 14), informing you that the item has been added to your shopping cart, and that quantities can be changed once you are ready to check out.

The "Quick Add" shopping cart symbol will change to indicate that the item is in your Cart (Figure 15).

Step 9: Update Your Quantities
Once you have added all desired items to your shopping cart, click on the "Go to Shopping Cart" button (refer back to Figure 15 above).
On the Shopping Cart page, you will be able to update the quantities of the items you placed there (Figure 16).

If you make any changes to the quantities, you will need to recalculate the shopping cart. To do this, click the Recalculate Total button. In our example, we changed our quantity from 1 to 100 bookmarks and clicked the Recalculate Total button, yielding an updated shopping cart (Figure 17).

* NOTE: If you do not click the Recalculate Total button after you have updated your quantities, your changes will be lost.
Step 10: Proceed to Checkout
Now that the item has been approved and added to the cart, the quantity has been updated, and the shopping cart has been recalculated, you can proceed to checkout. Click the Checkout button and you are on your way!
An alert window will appear, reminding you of the importance of clicking on the Recalculate Total button if any changes were made from the original quantities (Figure 18).
